Betonsports have sacked Carruthers

Betonsports have sacked the company’s chief executive David Carruthers, who has been arrested by US federal authorities facing racketeering charges. The company say that because of his continued detention, “he clearly remains unable to perform his duties“. David Carruthers has been arrested along with 12 other people, including Betonsports founder Gary Kaplan, involved on wire fraud, repeated mail fraud and money laundering.

Betonsports had not been any contact with Mr Carruthers since his arrest last week.
Also implicated in the racketeering scandal are three other companies, DME Global Marketing and Fulfillment, Direct Mail Expertise, and Mobile Promotions, based in Florida.

Betonsports suspended its shares on the London Stock Exchange (LSE) the day after the arrests and have lost 18 per cent of its capital since that period.
